In a recent Variety interview following the 2024 Oscar nominations announcement, Colman Domingo of ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ revealed that he set his sights on a new challenge: portraying a Bond villain.
Domingo, who recently received an Oscar nomination for his lead role in ‘Rustin,’ revealed the roles that interest him:
“I’d love to work with Yorgos [Lanthimos] in something like ‘Poor Things’ or to be a Bond villain. I’m not interested in whatever anyone has seen me do before.”
During the conversation, Domingo also revealed that he learned about his Oscar nomination from his husband while organizing his closet. His nomination for ‘Rustin’ also makes him only the second openly gay man to receive a nomination for playing a gay character.
Will There Be a New Walking Dead Spin-Off?
‘The Walking Dead’ universe continues to expand with ‘The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live,’ set to premiere on February 25, 2024. Created by Scott M. Gimple and Danai Gurira, the series promises to continue the story after the conclusion of the original ‘The Walking Dead’ series.
As for Domingo, he has several upcoming projects on the line, including ‘Drive-Away Dolls,’ ‘Michael,’ ‘The Madness,’ and a Nat King Cole biopic. It remains unknown whether there will be a new Bond movie in the near future, so who will be the next villain is an open-ended question.
