Wesley Snipes Reacts To Marvel Studios’ Ongoing Issues With ‘Blade’

‘Blade’ has been delayed multiple times and has seen several directors and writers leave the project.

Wesley Snipes took to Twitter to share his thoughts about Marvel Studios’ new ‘Blade’ movie and its struggles.

The new ‘Blade’ was announced five years ago in 2019 but was delayed numerous times. It also went under several changes. It seems Snipes came across the news as well. He tweeted the following along with a GIF of his Blade character:

Blade, lordylordylordy. Folks still lookin for the secret sauce, ridin snowmobiles in traffic, kinda rough. Daywalkers make it look easy, don’t they?”

You can see his tweet below.

What’s Going On With ‘Blade’?

Mahershala Ali was cast as the new Blade when the project was first announced. Bassam Tariq was set to direct, but he left two months before production was supposed to start. Yann Demange was then brought in as a replacement, but he recently left the project as well.

‘Blade’ also went through several screenwriters. Stacy Osei-Kuffour was the first writer, followed by Michael Green, and now Eric Pearson is working on the latest version of the script.

Ali is still set to play Blade, but his lawyer, Shelby Weiser, is frustrated over the delays, calling them the ‘craziest thing’ she’s seen in her career. Ali himself has remained positive. He told Entertainment Weekly last year that he was ‘encouraged with the project’:

“We’re working on it. That’s the best I could tell you. I’m really encouraged with the direction of the project. I think we’ll be back at it relatively soon.”

Ali is currently filming Jurassic World 4, so it’s unlikely that Blade will start filming soon. The film is currently scheduled to be released on November 7, 2025. There are rumors that Wesley Snipes might make a cameo as Blade in a future Marvel movie involving the multiverse, but this wasn’t confirmed.
