We have great news for the new fanbase of ‘The Flight Attendant‘: The comedy-drama streaming television series based on the novel of the same name by Chris Bohjalian, is set to return to HBO Max with its action-packed second season!
As known, the series led by Kaley Cuoco, who gained international recognition for portraying ‘Penny’ in the fan-favorite sitcom ‘The Big Bang Theory,’ was officially renewed for the second season back in December, after its highly-acclaimed first season. The exciting news regarding the series, which premiered on HBO Max on November 26, 2020, was delivered by WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar, just a day after the first season finale aired.
A shortly after the announcement arrived Cuoco, who is portraying ‘Cassie Bowden‘ in the said series, said in an interview:
“I hope it doesn’t sound too cocky, but we have always had a vision for a season 2. We have had a very clear path for what a season 2 would look like and we know exactly what it’ll look like.”
The renewal news is not surprising when we consider that ‘The Flight Attendant‘ has become the most-watched series on the platform, as of 2020.
What’s ‘The Flight Attendant’ season 2 release date?
As we mentioned above, the streaming platform ordered the second season for the groundbreaking series; a few months after, Kilar declared through social media channels that ‘The Flight Attendant’ second season will be released in Spring 2022.
As fans might remember, after the big announcement regarding ‘The Flight Attendant’ second season release date, series showrunner Steve Yockey told Variety concerning what the audiences can expect from the next season:
“I think that the way forward, really, for us if we decide to do another one is that it would be another adventure for Cassie, much like a Hitchcock character: how did she stumble into another misadventure and get caught up in it?”
What’s more, the lead actor, Cuoco, who is also serving as a producer for the series, also said the followings during a DEADLINE panel:
“I was very clear when we decided we wanted to do a second season, that I didn’t want Cassie to all of a sudden be like an amazing FBI agent. We are going to be adding in that slight CIA asset on the side.
Besides, according to the latest updates, Cuoco, Zosia Mamet, T. R. Knight, Rosie Perez, Deniz Akdeniz, Griffin Matthews, Michelle Gomez, Merle Dandridge, and Nolan Gerard Funk will return for season 2.
