Luna Snow/Seol Hee, also known by her mononym Luna, is a superheroine. The name Seol Hee means “snow” and “hope” in Korean. The character first appeared as an original character in the 2018 video game Marvel Future Fight. Luna was not originally created for the comics or for a series or movie in the MCU. As Bill Rosemann, one of Luna Snow’s creators, stated in an interview with ComicBook.com, during the development of the mobile game Marvel Future Fight, developer Netmarble wanted a character who was an “ice magician who could both heal and deal damage.” Since Marvel didn’t have a character that fit that description, Rosemann, along with Danny Koo and Min-Kyun Kim, created Luna Snow to fill the role.

As a South Korean developer, the Netmarble team wanted to create a hero that showcased their culture and that fans could connect with. This inspired Luna Snow’s alternate identity, K-pop idol Seol Hee. Luna Snow has appeared in various additional media, including several promotional singles and music videos attributed to the character.

Luna’s Biography

Seol Hee was raised by her grandmother after the death of her parents. In order to support her family, Hee decided to become an idol, applying to a special academy where she founded the South Korean K-pop group known as 4L1T with other trainees: Min Jee, Jin Soo, and Hae Won, taking the stage name Luna.

4L1T’s opening show at Stark Arena was attacked by an A.I.M. cell led by the Joro Spider. The group was taken hostage and trapped inside a Stark Industries cold fusion reactor, which malfunctioned and granted Luna cryokinetic abilities that she used to defeat the Joro Spider and her A.I.M. agents. After the incident, Hee became the superhero Luna Snow.

Seol Hee later fought alongside Crescent and White Fox against demons from Muspelheim. She was initially captured by Sindr, but Amadeus Cho rescued her. With the help of Aero and Wave, she used her superpowers to prevent the Arctic’s polar ice caps from melting. Seol Hee and other Agents of Atlas eventually defeated Sindr.

While in Tokyo, Seol Hee fought a group of wyverns after Mike Nguyen began uniting various Asian cities into Pan City.

Sindr, the Queen of Cinders and daughter of Surtur, seized the opportunity to turn Earth into her own fiery inferno during the War of Realms. She used the Fire Goblins and the Muspelheim Flames to attack the Pacific Rim. Luna joined the New Agents of Atlas to confront Sindr, along with the mad God of Asgard and his henchmen.

Trusted Allies and Alliances

Luna joins Ami Han, aka White Fox, Dan Bi, aka Crescent Moon, and Io, a magical bear spirit, from the South Korean National Intelligence Service to fight against Sindr and her forces in Seoul.

Luna and her friends, while talented, are vital members of the New Agents of Atlas, a secret society formed under the Atlas Foundation and the superhero team led by former SHIELD agent Jimmy Woo. The team also includes Amadeus Cho, aka Brawn; Shang-Chi, aka Kung Fu Master; and Cindy Moon, aka Silk. To defeat Sindr, Brawn recruits Snow and other Pacific Rim heroes such as Lin Lie, aka Swordsman; Lei Ling, aka Aero; Pearl Pangan, aka Wave; and Tūtū Pele, aka Pele, the Hawaiian Fire Goddess.

Luna Snow later fought alongside fellow South Koreans White Fox and Crescent against an invasion of Fire Demons from the realm of Muspelheim. Luna used her abilities to freeze the water beneath the fire demons and fired ice shards to extinguish their flames. During the battle, she was frozen in a block of ice when Agents of Atlas member Brawn sprayed water on her.

Taken hostage by Sindr, the Queen of Cinders, Luna was rescued by Brawn, who infiltrated the Fire Goblin army with White Fox’s help, teleporting both of them away. After regaining her strength, Luna, alongside Aero and Wave, went through Sindr’s portal to the North Pole to prevent the polar ice caps from melting through their combined powers.

Upon defeating Sindr’s Asgardian Dragons and preventing the polar ice from melting, Luna and the Agents of Atlas fought against Sindr and her army on the Great Wall of China, ultimately expelling them back to Muspelheim. After Malekith’s defeat, Luna and the Agents helped the Shanghai population recover from the war.
