On May 13, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that Fully vaccinated Americans can ditch the coronavirus masks; regarding the issue, the director of CDC, Dr. Rochelle Walensky said:
“Anyone who is fully vaccinated can participate in indoor and outdoor activities, large or small, without wearing a mask or physical distancing. If you are fully vaccinated, you can start doing the things that you had stopped doing because of the pandemic.”
Although the news met by a great number of Americans, well-known actor Wil Wheaton stated through his verified Instagram account that he does not agree with the new CDC guideline. The ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation,’ released a photo of himself wearing a coronavirus mask and stated that these masks not only prevent people from the deadly virus but also the disadvantages of being famous!
Underneath the photo, ‘The Big Bang Theory‘ star wrote the following statement:
“Not gonna lie. I am thrilled that we who are fully vaccinated can stop wearing masks all the time, but I love the almost total anoynmity I’ve enjoyed in public, for the first time in 30 years, during the last 18 months or so.”
In the comments section, a good number of users of the platform wrote that they would continue wearing the masks for various reasons even though they are not famous at all. Wheaton’s industry friends also jumped into the section and left the following comments to support his decision:
“It’s the literal best” wrote, Seth Green.
“…I know what you mean. Sometimes that’s kinda nice.” added, ‘Coming Home for Christmas’ star Danica McKellar.
