Will There Be A ‘Firefly Lane’ Season 2? Latest Updates Provided By Netflix

The fanbase of the ‘Firefly Lane‘ series is hungry for a new season; but, is a second season coming to Netflix? Here’s all we know about the next season:

The Netflix series, based on the novel of the same name by Kristin Hannah, premiered back on February 3. The Maggie Friedman-created drama series held an approval rating of 47% on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes with its first 10 episodes. Even though there are so many expectations due to series’ stars Sarah Chalke and Katherine Heigl, the series could not garner high praises, especially from critics. So much so that, Judy Berman, who is working for TIME magazine, stated:

“By most metrics, Firefly Lane is simply not a good show. Yet despite its many limitations, there’s something lovable about it.”

Because of the average score of the series, fans started wondering if the series would end after just one season; this doubt was fueled by the news that Netflix has not renewed the series, so far.

As known, in the season of April – May, the streaming giant revealed the renewals through social media channels; despite numerous series, there was no declaration regarding ‘Firefly Lane’ season 2. However, because the first season just covered half of the novel’s events, it is predicted that a second season is coming. What’s more, some critics read the delay as good news.

When is Firefly Lane season 2 filming?

As we stated above, the streaming giant has yet announced the renewal; so, in case there is an official announcement, the filming for ‘Firefly Lane’ season 2 began anytime in the next couple of months. When actor Ben Lawson, who portrays ‘John Ryan’ in the series, was asked about the filming, he said in an interview by referring that there are so many unclear things concerning next season:

“There’s plenty to go, just from the first novel. There’s also a sequel. Hopefully, audiences delve in and we can continue.”

However, there is a piece of good news; if the series is renewed, the majority of the main cast will be returning. So, we will see, Katherine Heigl, Sarah Chalke, Roan Curtis, Ben Lawson, Beau Garrett, Jon-Michael Ecker, and Ali Skovbye in the new season.
