While tons of series are coming to an end, we have a piece of cheerful news for the fans of the Netflix series ‘Ginny and Georgia.’
The rising series created by Sarah Lampert, which started to release back on February 24, 2021, is officially returning to the streaming platform! According to the announcement made by Netflix, the series was renewed for a second season, back on April 19, 2021.
Regarding the upcoming season, showrunner Debra J. Fisher and creator/executive producer Sarah Lampert said in a press statement:
“We are so appreciative of the incredible response and love you all have shown Ginny and Georgia. We’re especially grateful to Brianne and Toni, who set the highest bar every step of the way. We can’t wait to return to Wellsbury for season 2.“
Are main-cast members are returning for the second season?
There is no exact information on whether all the cast members are reprising their roles, we know that La Torraca (as ‘Austin’), Raymond Ablack (as ‘Joe’), Sara Waisglass (as ‘Maxine’), Felix Mallard ( as ‘Marcus’), Scott Porter (as ‘Paul’), and Jennifer Robertson (as ‘Ellen’) is returning for the stunning second season!
And of course, we will see stars Brianne Howey and Antonia Gentry in the next season.
Regarding the second season, Howey, portraying ‘Georgia’ in the said series shared her expectation regarding the next season in an interview:
“It’s a double-edged sword because Georgia wants all of these opportunities for Ginny so Ginny doesn’t turn into her. But it comes at a price because then Ginny does become more independent. She does find her voice.”
It was also teased that Ginny’s father will be dominant in ‘Ginny and Georgia’ season 2.
What’s the release date of ‘Ginny and Georgia’?
Filming for ‘Ginny and Georgia’ season 2, has begun! Even though, both the showrunners and the streaming platform have yet announced a release date for the series, it is expected that the fans will get it in February 2022.
In a recent interview, Fisher implied that the series will be renewed for more seasons by the streaming platform, by saying:
“We want to keep talking about Ginny and Georgia for a very long time.”
