It seems that ‘Spider-Man 4’ will meet the fan expectations, as insider MyTimeToShineH recently reported that it “was described to me as the ‘Biggest Spider-Man movie of them all.’”
The sequel is currently in the early stages of development, with the script just completed by returning writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Tom Holland confirmed that filming is slated to start next summer.
The franchise star told on ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon’ in late October, “It’s happening. Yeah, next summer— Next summer we start shooting, everything’s good to go, we’re nearly there, super exciting. I can’t wait.”
Holland has been teasing updates on ‘Spider-Man 4’ for weeks, sharing his excitement about the script, which he said ‘lit a fire under him.’ Details on the plot are still largely under wraps, though.
Rumors suggest a possible crossover with Tom Hardy’s Venom and Andy Serkis’ Knull, who debuted in ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ this year. A recent press release from Sony Pictures Japan supports the claims.
Hyping up the fourth ‘Spider-Man’ movie, a section in the recent statement read, “Tom Holland, who plays Peter [Parker], has already given his stamp of approval to the story! ‘This will be a real movie that fans can respect!’ Is Tom Hardy, who plays Eddie in the ‘Venom’ series, ready to take part?”
The article also noted how Hardy is willing to share the screen with Holland’s Web-Slinger though he previously confirmed ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ was his last appearance as Eddie Brock.
Destin Daniel Cretton sits on the director’s chair for ‘Spider-Man 4’ since director of the previous films, Jon Watts, previously stepped down from the project.
