X-Men ’97’s Mysterious MCU Cameo Revealed

Did you catch the special moment in the latest ‘X-Men ’97’ episode?

If you’ve been keeping up with ‘X-Men ’97,’ you might have missed a cool cameo in the latest episode, ‘Remember It.’

Something really bad happens in ‘Remember It’. A giant robot called a Sentinel attacks Genosha along with its robot army. This attack causes a lot of destruction and hurts many.

If you look closely right before all the chaos starts, you see a special guest from the MCU watching from a distance — it’s Uatu the Watcher. You might know him from ‘What If…?,’ but he’s popped up in other Marvel shows, too, like ‘I Am Groot.’

Uatu the Watcher observes but does not interfere. Jeffrey Wright usually voices The Watcher, but he doesn’t speak in this cameo.

The Watcher’s Cameo Opens Doors For More

This cameo also means we might see characters from ‘X-Men ’97’ show up in other Marvel series. There’s already talk about Storm from the X-Men appearing in the next season of ‘What If…?’ The Watcher likes to bring together heroes from different places, so anything’s possible.

Jeffrey Wright says he’s open to all the possibilities his role could bring into the Marvel universe. He adds that there’s always something new and exciting around the corner with Marvel:

“There are infinite possibilities with this series within the MCU. I’m open to all of it. One thing I think we’re realizing with Marvel and Kevin Feige’s leadership is that these are broad, broad canvasses they’re painting on. I don’t even try to anticipate, so I’m just open to all of it – as The Watcher would be.”

If you haven’t started watching ‘X-Men ’97’ yet, now’s a great time to start. The first five episodes are on Disney+, and a new one comes out every week.
