X-Men Reboot Confirmed To Follow ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ Says Kevin Feige

Marvel president teased plans for the Mutants future at a new Disney event.

MCU’s X-Men reboot will arrive after ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ according to Kevin Feige’s recent update at the Disney APAC Content Showcase in Singapore.

“I think you will see that continues in our next few movies with some X-Men players that you might recognize. Right after that, the whole story of ‘Secret Wars’ really leads us into a new age of mutants and of the X-Men,” Feige revealed while opening the event yesterday (via Deadline). “Again, [it’s] one of those dreams come true. We finally have the X-Men back.”

Marvel regained the rights to the X-Men franchise in 2019 when Disney acquired 20th Century Fox. Since then, Mutants have appeared in MCU projects like ‘Ms. Marvel,’ ‘The Marvels,’ and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’

Last summer’s hit ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ brought Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine back to the big screen and featured Jennifer Garner as Elektra and Channing Tatum as Gambit.

Currently, Michael Lesslie is working on the script for the X-Men reboot with no directors or cast members officially attached. Meanwhile, other Marvel projects are nearing the end of production.

Referring to ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ during the event, Feige shared, “Finally, [we’re] bringing Marvel’s First Family into the MCU. They wrap next week, the movie comes out next summer, and then all those characters go right into the next ‘Avengers’ movies, so I’m very excited for the future of the Fantastic Four.”

‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ will release on July 25, 2025, starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. It will kick off the MCU’s sixth phase, following the conclusion of Phase 5 with ‘Thunderbolts.’
