‘X-Men’ Reboot Has A Hidden Clue About A Spider-Man Crossover

While we’re all waiting for Hugh Jackman to come back as Wolverine in ‘Deadpool 3’ this summer, Marvel’s got a new animated show that might just be a treat for Spider-Man fans, too.

Marvel just showed us the first look at the ‘X-Men ‘97’ animated series. And guess what? They might have slipped in a little hint that there’s a new Spider-Man thing on the horizon.

In the trailer for ‘X-Men ‘97,’ there’s this fast shot where you can see the Daily Bugle’s front page, the newspaper where Peter Parker works.

With a headline asking, ‘Is Spider-Man A Mutant?’ the shot might mean we might see the character pop up in the X-Men series or maybe even get his own rebooted show following 1994’s ‘Spider-Man: The Animated Series.’

In the end, the detail subtly confirms that the mutant hero team and the web-slinger share the same universe.

What To Expect From The New Show?

The new ‘X-Men ‘97’ series is coming to Disney+ as Marvel’s first show from its official animation studio. The show is picking up where the old one left off, and the trailer makes it clear they’re sticking to the original style and story.

The old X-Men series ended with Professor X leaving Earth after getting injured by an anti-mutant fanatic. Now, the new series starts with everyone thinking he is gone for good.

Cyclops is taking over his role as the leader, and Magneto ends up with all of X’s inheritance, which probably includes the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters and the X-Men.

‘X-Men ‘97’ is set to premiere on Disney+ on March 20, followed by the introduction of the live-action X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with ‘Deadpool 3’ on July 24.
