Helmed by Luc Besson, the director behind ‘The Fifth Element’ and ‘Lucy,’ this project is described as a big-budget reimagining that explores Dracula’s origins, focusing on the gothic romance between Prince Vladimir and his wife. This narrative direction suggests the film will have themes of love, loss, and transformation, which sets it apart from previous adaptations.
Apart from Caleb Landry Jones, who is known for his role as Banshee in ‘X-Men: First Class,’ Christoph Waltz of ‘Inglourious Basterds’ is also set to appear in the film in a yet-to-be-disclosed role. Caleb Landry Jones’s casting as Dracula places him among prestigious actors who have portrayed the vampire lord, including Bela Lugosi, Christopher Lee, and Gary Oldman.
In collaboration with EuropaCorp, Luc Besson Productions is producing the film, with Paris-based Kinology handling sales and discussions with potential distributors.
