Zack Snyder Confirms: A ‘300’ Spin-Off Is On The Way

Snyder hinted that it could explore new stories beyond the original films.

Zack Snyder officially confirmed that a spin-off series based on ‘300’ is in development.

Snyder recently spoke to ComicBook while promoting his new show ‘Twilight of the Gods.’ He shared that plans for the series are still in the early stages. He added that they’re just starting to work on it and that the project is already exciting to think about “We’re just getting ready to dive in and get to work on it. It’s super fun, I love the world,” Snyder said.

Snyder didn’t reveal much about the story, but there’s a chance it could be connected to a project he pitched years ago called ‘Blood and Ashes.’ This was originally meant to follow the events of ‘300’ and its sequel, ‘300: Rise of an Empire,’ but it focused more on the relationship between Alexander the Great and his second-in-command Hephaestion instead of the Spartans.

Snyder worked on ‘Blood and Ashes’ during the time he was making ‘Army of the Dead.’

Snyder explained in 2021 that he now has the rights back to ‘Blood and Ashes,’ but Warner Bros. wasn’t interested in making it as a movie. “There was that concept, and it came out really great. It’s a beautiful love story, really, with warfare. I would love to do it, but Warner Bros. said no. You know, they’re not huge fans of mine. It is what it is.”

The upcoming ‘300’ spin-off series will most likely end up on Netflix as Snyder currently has an ongoing deal with them.
