Zack Snyder Reveals His Favorite ‘Rebel Moon’ Scene

Snyder wrote and directed ‘Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire’ and its newly-released sequel.

‘Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver’ made its debut on Netflix in April, just a few months following the release of ‘A Child of Fire’ in December 2023. Zack Snyder revealed his favorite scene to shoot for the film series in a recent chat with The Hollywood Handle:

“Kora fighting the guys in the barn, killing all the Imperial guys in the barn. That felt old school. It was like old school fighting and shooting, and really just going, you know, shot to shot and really telling that story was really fun. And I can’t wait for you to see the R-rated version of it.”

The Scene Set Kora On An Adventure

Sofia Boutella starred as Kora in the franchise alongside Djimon Hounsou and Ed Skrein. The barn scene in the first film inspired the ex-Imperium soldier to join a rebellion against the Motherworld.

Kora saved Sam (Charlotte Maggi) from the Imperium soldiers’ sexual assault in a barn and left his peaceful life on Veldt behind to protect the settlement. She returned to fight together with Sam, Jimmy (Anthony Hopkins), and Aris (Sky Yang) in the sequel.

More ‘Rebel Moon’ Films Are On The Way

Both films recently got R-rated director’s cuts while Netflix greenlit a prequel spinoff about villainous Balisarius (Fra Free). Snyder shared plans to extend the ‘Rebel Moon’ universe in a post-screening session:

“There are another four, five movies beyond this. There’s this animated movie that we’ve been working on. I don’t know if we’re going to make it 100%, but we’re working on it.”

The franchise hasn’t been well-received so far, though. ‘A Child of Fire’ currently holds a 21% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and the sequel only 17%.
