Emmy Award-winning actress Zendaya, born Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman, is in talks to portray ‘Ronettes’ Ronnie Spector in an A24 and New Regency-produced biopic movie according to Variety.
For the film that may Zendaya will be in the title role, the said film companies acquired Spector’s life rights alongside Spector’s book ‘Be My Baby.’ Also, Pulitzer-winner Jackie Sibblies Drury has been made an offer to write the script.
Spector, called the “bad girl of rock and roll,” personally selected the Emmy-winning actor to portray her in the biopic film which will focus on her early career and battles to get back her music rights. The singer also will executive produce the film alongside Zendaya, and Marc Platt whose works include ‘The Little Mermaid,’ ‘Dear Evan Hansen,’ and ‘Wicked.’
The negotiations between the parties have reached the final stage, so, it is being waited now for the official news regarding that the actress has got the role.
