Is Alan Ritchson James Gunn’s New Batman? Robert Patrick Responds To Rumors

Patrick, Ritchson’s co-star, believes they would work well together.

There have been rumors about the possibility of Alan Ritchson starring as Batman in James Gunn’s DC Universe (DCU). Robert Patrick, Ritchson’s co-star in ‘Reacher’ and a familiar face in Gunn’s ‘Peacemaker,’ recently weighed in on these rumors while speaking to CinemaBlend.

During the conversation, Patrick, who knows Gunn personally and professionally, endorsed the idea of Ritchson working under Gunn’s direction. Emphasizing the potential synergy between Ritchson and Gunn, the actor said:

“I can tell you this. I’m a friend of James Gunn. I love James Gunn. I love his wife. He’s one of my favorite people I’ve ever worked with in my life. He is a creative juggernaut. I mean, there’s so much creativity around him. He’s buzzy. It’s like a hum with that guy. I love him to death. And I think that he and Alan, the little bit (of) time I got to work with Alan, would be a wonderful fit. I think the two of ’em would have a ball together.”

According to Patrick, both Gunn and Ritchson share a commitment, which he believes would translate well on screen.

Ritchson found himself among the names speculated to play the Dark Knight. This speculation gains some credibility, considering Ritchson’s expressed interest in joining the Batman franchise. However, as of now, Gunn, the creative force behind the new DCU direction, has not made any official casting announcements for the role.
