Recent news reported that Lewis Pullman became the top choice for Sentry after Steven Yeun stepped away from the role earlier this month. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pullman received an offer from Marvel Studios to replace Yeun in ‘Thunderbolts.’
The rumors originally came from Daniel Richtman and spread on social media, but there have been no official statements from either Marvel or the actor’s representatives so far.
Pullman, known for his part in ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ recently shared the screen with the Captain Marvel actress Brie Larson in ‘Lessons In Chemistry,’ playing her love interest Calvin Evans.
There Are Other Candidates For The Part
Ever since Yeun announced leaving the upcoming Marvel project due to scheduling conflicts, speculations about the new Sentry actor circulated on the internet, with fans suggesting names like Alexander Skarsgård and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as possible replacements.
Some sources also reported that the Studio was eyeing ‘Euphoria’ actor Austin Abrams for the part of the antagonist in ‘Thunderbolts.’ Those rumors also remained unanswered.
Time Has Been A Problem For The Movie’s Production
Although Marvel Studios never officially announced it, Steven Yeun made it to the cast of ‘Thunderbolts’ in February 2023. Reports surfaced on January 2 that Yeun had to leave the project, centered on Marvel’s villains and antiheroes, due to schedule issues resulting from the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
The strikes of 2023 caused delays for the upcoming film, pushing its release date to July 25, 2025. With the cast including Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, ‘Thunderbolts’ will start filming in March or April 2024.
