Dakota Johnson Reveals Whether Spider-Man Will Join Madame Web

Madame Web was written as a mentor for Spider-Man and many other characters in the comic books. So, will he appear in the upcoming Marvel film?

In a recent appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,’ Dakota Johnson confirmed that Spider-Man would not be featured in Sony’s new spin-off film. Discussing the film, which is set to release on February 14, Johnson said:

“It’s her own world. It’s 2003, so it’s before Spider-Man even existed. So, he will not be in this movie. It’s a superhero world from a female perspective. No such thing [as Spider-Man].”

She mentioned the cast, adding:

“The co-stars are Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, and Isabella Merced. And they are fabulous people.”

Instead of Peter Parker, Cassandra Webb will mentor three Spider-Women in the upcoming ‘Madame Web’ movie. The story will center around Webb, Julia Cornwall, Mattie Franklin, and Anya Corazon facing Tahar Rahim’s Ezekiel Sims as he tries to stop them from becoming superheroes.

There May Be A Connection With Another Parker

Fans got their first look at the Spider suits for Sweeney, O’Connor, and Merced in the film’s first trailer released in November. Later, Johnson’s costume was revealed through an international poster.

While there are some differences, the live-action suit of Madame Web mostly reflects the comic book design. It stands out with its all-red bodysuit, differing from the traditional Spider-Man suits that usually support blue.

Meanwhile, the appearance of Adam Scott’s character in the trailer keeps raising rumors among fans. Although his name in the film is never uttered, the character is believed to be Peter Parker’s uncle, Ben Parker.

Sony hasn’t yet confirmed these speculations or whether ‘Madame Web’ would be connected to the Parkers’ universe.
