Henry Cavill May Join MCU As Wolverine, Reports Suggest

Cavill, who once played Superman, is now rumored to be Wolverine in a new Marvel film.

According to reports by Giant Freakin Robot’s Henry Hards, Henry Cavill might be joining the MCU as a new version of Wolverine.

As ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ prepares to bring Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine, Giant Freakin Robot suggests that Cavill could appear as a variant of Wolverine in the movie. As per Hards, an inside source confirmed that Cavill’s character will have a long brown coat that fans should watch for.

Hards pointed out that this same source accurately revealed casting news for ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.’

Fans Had Another Role in Mind

There was strong fan support for Cavill to play Captain Britain before the Wolverine rumors. The actor also expressed interest in portraying this character. In a previous interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said it would be fun to bring a modern twist to Captain Britain:

“I have the internet, and I have seen the various rumors about Captain Britain. It would be loads of fun to do a cool, modernized version of that—like the way they modernized Captain America. There’s something fun about that, and I do love being British.”

There has been no official confirmation from Marvel Studios or Henry Cavill about his involvement in the MCU as Wolverine or any other character. Meanwhile, ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ will hit theaters on July 26, 2024.
