Sean Gunn Confirms ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Won’t Return To MCU

Fans were hoping to see the team again, but now they know it won’t happen.

During a recent panel, Sean Gunn confirmed that the ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ team won’t make a comeback in the upcoming Avengers movies.

As per Heroic Hollywood, Gunn was asked about ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’s return during the panel. The actor’s response was pretty simple:

“No.”

Gunn appeared briefly in ‘Avengers: Endgame.’ However, he now confirmed that there are no talks about bringing Kraglin or any other Guardians back for future Avengers movies.

Gunn’s Previous Remarks Were More Hopeful

Sean Gunn spoke to Screen Rant at the Saturn Awards in February. He didn’t rule out the possibility this time. Still, he said he has no information about ‘Guardians’ future:

“I honestly have no idea to tell you the truth. I think that there’s always things going on in the kitchen at Marvel, where they’re kind of figuring out the near future and the far future, and if I told you I knew what the Guardians were doing next, I’d be lying. I don’t know.”

During this interview, he also talked about replacing his brother, James Gunn, as a director. You can read the details here.

‘Guardians 3’ Was the Final Chapter

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ tied up several storylines but left the door open for future adventures. Fans have been hoping that they might see the team in another project, such as the next set of Avengers films. However, Gunn’s recent comments put those hopes on shelves— at least for now.
