Woody Allen Isn’t Sure About Retiring

He finds raising money for movies tough and might quit unless someone else pays for his projects.

Woody Allen has been making movies for 58 years. He is now thinking about the right time to stop making them.

Allen just made a new movie called ‘Coup de Chance’ and it received a positive reception. Still, he is not sure if he wants to keep making movies. In an interview with AirMail, he said one of the reasons is that it’s hard for him to get the money needed:

“I’m on the fence about it. I don’t want to have to go out to raise money. I find that a pain in the neck.”

The director says the changes in the movie industry aren’t appealing to him anymore:

“The whole business has changed, and not in an appealing way. All the romance of filmmaking is gone.”

He added that he might want to make another one if someone offered to pay for his next movie.

This Isn’t the First Time Allen Talked About Retiring

Allen previously hinted at his retirement after making his 50th film. This movie happens to be ‘Coup de Chance’:

“I was thinking this is my 50th film, and I have to decide if I want to make more films.”

It seems Allen is ‘thinking about’ retirement but hasn’t made up his mind.

‘Coup de Chance’ will be available to watch online and on-demand starting April 12.
