Airbnb Introduce New X-Men ’97 Mansion: Now You Can Train In The Danger Room

The company recreated film/TV show houses for its Icons hotels project.

Airbnb recently introduced a house modeled after ‘X-Men ’97’ at the 2024 Summer Release Event. The X-Mansion mirrors Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters in New Castle, New York.

It reportedly offers the following to guests:

  • Train in the War Room with professional stunt coordinators
  • Try on Cerebro’s helmet
  • Create potions in Beast’s lab
  • Recreate Wolverine’s iconic photograph meme
  • Receive a diploma from the Institute for higher learning in Professor X’s study

How Was The Place Built?

Airbnb teamed up with Microsoft to achieve the ‘X-Men ’97’ feel in the place. They used old operating systems to update boomboxes and spent hours handpainting props and rooms to create a 2D animated look. Every item in the house took over an hour to paint.

The X-Mansion can host up to eight guests with its four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The company’s official website lists the price as $97 per guest.

The Project Also Includes Other Fictional Worlds

Airbnb also gave a sneak peek of the upcoming ‘Up!’ House Icons experience. The team built the floating Disney home from scratch in Abiquiu, New Mexico.

The place features a film-accurate color scheme and props like an Adventure book. It weighs 40,000 pounds and hangs from a crane 50 feet in the air.

Airbnb’s new project also includes stays in Barbie’s Malibu DreamHouse, Shrek’s Swamp, and The Last Blockbuster.
