Final Trailer For ‘Acolyte’ Teases The Show’s Major Villain

‘The Acolyte’ may just showed us the big villain.

‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’s drops a final trailer, and it gives us a good look at the big villain of the show.

The trailer came with some new pictures just a month before ‘Acolyte’s first two episodes land on Disney+. It shows a mysterious character with a red lightsaber ready to fight Sol (Lee Jung-Jae). This character is likely the Sith Lord of the High Republic Era. Showrunner Leslye Headland teases:

“I’ll just say that they’re my favorite character.”

Headland also explains that ‘The Acolyte’ will slowly reveal its secrets rather than keeping a fast pace:

“I hope audiences embrace the duality that exists in every character in the show. The show is an onion. Each episode peels away to reveal something else. I hope the experience of watching it is both suspenseful and satisfying.”

‘Acolyte’ Will Have Exciting Action Scenes

Dafne Keen previously teased that the show aims to top the famous lightsaber duel with Darth Maul from ‘The Phantom Menace’:

“It was very much: We want to top the Darth Maul fight — the most iconic fight, I think, in the Star Wars cinematic universe. It’s such an amazing fight and we were all so excited about the saber fights. There’s such a skill and a craft to it that it feels so OG Star Wars and feels so impressive when you see it as a viewer.”

‘The Acolyte’ stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-Jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss. The creators hope to blend the classic Star Wars feel with modern elements that today’s viewers will relate to.

‘The Acolyte’ will premiere with its first two episodes on June 4.
