The fourth season isn’t here yet, but ‘The Boys’ is gearing up for its fifth season.
Showrunner Eric Kripke recently spoke to ScreenRant and shared plans about the upcoming season. He described the process as ‘very raw,’ saying:
“We’re about a month into the writers’ room right now, so we have some pretty cool notions,” Kripke shared. “It’s a very raw lava-esque deal right now. It hasn’t hardened into anything, but I’m excited. I think there’s some crazy sh*t’s been talked about, that’s for sure.”
Amazon confirmed the renewal for the new season. There is no official release date for Season 5 yet, but it might come out in 2025 or 2026 based on the usual gaps between seasons.
Kripke Planned ‘The Boys’ To Have Five Seasons
Kripke hinted that the show might not end with Season 5. He pointed to the success of ‘Supernatural,’ as it lasted much longer than he initially expected. ‘The Boys’ popularity and the launch of ‘Gen V’ and ‘The Boys: Mexico’ suggest that there could be more seasons in the future.
Season 4 promises to be intense. The world is on the edge: Victoria Neuman is getting closer to the Oval Office under Homelander’s control. Butcher has only months to live, he’s lost Becca’s son and his job as the leader of The Boys. The team is tired of his lies and must find a way to work together to save the world before it’s too late.
The cast for Season 4 includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Cameron Crovetti. New additions to the cast are Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
‘The Boys’ Season 4 will premiere on June 13 on Amazon Prime Video.
