Hayden Christensen hinted at a possible return in the second season of the ‘Ahsoka’ series.
Christensen appeared in the first season as Anakin Skywalker in several forms: the World Between Worlds, a training hologram for Ahsoka, and a Force Ghost in the final moments of the show. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor hinted that Anakin is still connected to Ahsoka in spirit:
“Look, as to whether or not we see Anakin again, I don’t know. But as evidenced by that last shot of the series, he’s with her in spirit, and they continue to have this connection.”
He also talked about how much he enjoyed playing the wiser, post-life version of Anakin:
“I loved it, man. It was a really exciting version of the character, this kind of post-life Anakin that is this wise master that is an expression of the totality of the character with a sense of everything that has happened to him and that he’s gone through and being able to wield both sides of the Force. It was a really exciting version of the character that I had a hunger to get to play, and I think audiences had an appetite for it as well.”
There Are Some Rumors About Anakin’s Return
Anakin may have a much larger role in the next season. Some theories even suggest that Anakin and Ahsoka Tano might have connections to the Mortis Gods. These rumors were shared by @MyTimeToShineH on social media.
If true, Anakin’s presence on Peridea might explain why he wasn’t guiding his son, Luke, before the events of the sequel trilogy.
Christensen appreciates the support Anakin has been getting, especially since he also suited up as Darth Vader in both the ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ and ‘Ahsoka’ series:
“A lot of the people who are working on these projects now grew up on the prequels and were huge fans of those films, and so I think they have a special connection to these characters and to Anakin. Anytime Vader shows up, that’s a crowd-pleaser, so that’s an easy one. But it’s really nice to see the support that Anakin has now.”
‘Ahsoka’ Season 2 is currently in pre-production. Dave Filoni is returning as the showrunner.
