He plays an LAPD officer who joins a secret task force to solve a suspicious murder.

‘Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles is back on TV with a new series called ‘Countdown.’

As per ComicBook.com, Ackles said he’s excited about working with Prime Video again. He said he had a great experience with the team on ‘The Boys’ and is looking forward to bringing ‘Countdown’ to life:

“I had an incredible experience working with the Prime Video team on ‘The Boys’ and am delighted to be able to continue that relationship on ‘Countdown.’ I simply cannot wait to partner with Derek and the rest of our ‘Countdown’ family to bring this story to life.”

Vernon Sanders, the head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, thinks the same about working with Derek Haas again:

“We are incredibly excited to be back in business with Derek Haas. He has an undeniable ability to enthrall audiences with thrilling storytelling and heart. We cannot wait for Prime Video’s global customers to experience this dynamic series, led by our very talented star, Jensen Ackles.”

Haas also said he loves making shows full of action, drama, and surprises and can’t wait for everyone to see ‘Countdown.’

Ackles Will Play An LAPD Officer

Ackles plays LAPD officer Mark Meachum in ‘Countdown.’ The story starts with a suspicious murder in broad daylight. Meachum is then recruited to join a secret task force of undercover agents from different law enforcement branches.

As the investigation goes on, they discover a bigger and more dangerous plot. The team has to put aside their personal differences to save millions of people in the city.

Derek Haas is the name behind popular shows like ‘Chicago Fire,’ ‘Chicago PD,’ ‘Chicago Med,’ ‘FBI,’ and ‘FBI: International.’ He is the creator, executive producer, and showrunner of ‘Countdown.’ He also wrote movies like ‘2 Fast 2 Furious,’ ‘3:10 to Yuma,’ and ‘Wanted.’ Haas is working with Amazon MGM Studios, which also produces ‘The Boys.’

‘Countdown’ was announced by Prime Video on June 6, 2024. Prime Video ordered 13 episodes of the series.
