‘The Acolyte’ Prepares To Say Goodbye After This Twist

Fans learned why Sol chose to save Osha over Mae, just before the season finale.

‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ surprised fans with a big twist before the season finale.

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

The penultimate episode of ‘The Acolyte’ was released on Disney+ on July 9 and answered questions about the show’s flashback timeline. The third episode was set entirely in the past, and it showed the night when the Jedi came for Osha and Mae on Brendok and led to the death of their entire coven.

In the third episode, there was a scene where Osha and Mae were on either side of a collapsing bridge, with Sol on a nearby platform trying to save them. Mae’s side of the bridge collapsed, but Sol managed to save Osha. This week’s episode showed a different perspective on this event.

It turns out that Sol was trying to save both Osha and Mae by using his Force powers to hold up each side of the bridge. However, he realized he couldn’t keep this up for long and had to make a tough decision. Sol decided to let Mae fall so he could save Osha, as he believed Osha wanted to become a Jedi while Mae didn’t.

This Twist is Pretty Surprising

It’s because Osha, who was Sol’s former Padawan, is no longer with him. Mae has taken Osha’s place on their trip back to Coruscant. Mae is now learning the full truth about Sol’s decision to let her fall, and Sol knows he is speaking to Mae. His honesty might win her over by the season’s end.

‘The Acolyte’ is set during The High Republic era and follows an investigation into a series of mysterious crimes. The story involves a Jedi master and his former apprentice working together to uncover the truth. As they learn more, their journey becomes darker and more dangerous.

The show stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss. ‘The Acolyte’ premiered on Disney+ on June 4th, 2024.

The final episode is expected to be released soon.
