Jude Law Says He Has No Memory Of Life Before ’Star Wars’

Jude Law has loved ‘Star Wars’ for as long as he can remember.

Jude Law is a long-time fan of ‘Star Wars.’

“I think it’s fair to say I can’t really remember life before ‘Star Wars.’ I mean, ‘Star Wars’ and the phenomenon of that first film was all-encompassing for children of that age,” the actor said in a new chat with People Magazine during Disney’s D23 event. “Then another one came out and sort of just expanded the world even more.”

The ‘Star Wars’ franchise might have even influenced his career, as Law told reporters, “Also I suppose looking back now, it was a big part of my love affair with film, the beauty of film as storytelling and therefore perhaps what inspired me to act and why I wanted to be in that world.”

Law will star in the new ‘Star Wars’ series, ‘Skeleton Crew,’ which starts on December 3 on Disney+. The show is similar to 1980s kid movies like ‘E.T.’ and ‘The Goonies.’

“I play someone with a very mysterious past,” he told Entertainment Weekly about his role. “He’s known by many names. He is contradictory. The children meet him, and he promises to help them find their way home, but not all of them trust him.”

He added, “And some of them really worship him. So he becomes a kind of barometer almost for their sense of security under an adult’s wing in this world. You never really get a true read on him until the very, very end. So it was great fun. That’s all I’m going to say.”

Along with Law, the new series will also feature child actors Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, and Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Jude will play a character named Jod Na Nawood in ‘Skeleton Crew.’ He is new to the ‘Star Wars’ universe, but the trailer shows that Jod Na Nawood is Force-sensitive, even though he appears briefly.
