Zoë Kravitz Hints At Exciting Plans For Catwoman In ‘The Batman’ Sequel

There’s ‘more to explore’ about the DC antagonist, according to the actress.

Zoë Kravitz made her debut as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in 2022’s ‘The Batman.’ The film showed her infiltrating the Penguin’s Iceberg Lounge to find her missing roommate Annika and introduced Carmine Falcone as her father.

Kravitz is now set to return for the sequel, ‘The Batman – Part II,’ and wants to see her character evolve in the new story. “The whole concept of Selina in that film was it’s an origin story. So obviously there’s a lot more to explore,” she recently told Collider. “It was a woman coming into her power and wanting to explore what it feels like when she can be playful and sit into that power. Hopefully, it will be very fun one day.”

Work on the new film’s script is ongoing at the moment. There isn’t much update about the project, but the original leading cast is expected to return alongside new characters from ‘The Penguin’ show.

Andy Serkis (Alfred Pennyworth) says the production will start early next year. “Well, there is a huge arc which you’ve got – nah, I’m not giving away anything,” he shared at ACE Superhero Comic Con 2024.

“Basically, I know nothing about the movie other than that I’ve just found out that we’re probably likely to be starting filming early next year. Therefore, if you do the math, it’ll be a year and a half after that.”

Matt Reeves’ new ‘Batman’ will be part of DC’s ‘Elseworlds’ tales like Todd Phillips’ ‘Joker’ sequel. Another actor will take on the role of the Dark Knight in the DCU’s ‘The Brave and the Bold,’ which will also feature Damian Wayne/Robin.
