Michael Sheen Promises A Satisfying Experience For ‘Good Omens’ Fans In Final Season

Sheen will return as Angel Aziraphale opposite David Tennant’s Crowley in a new season.

Prime Video renewed ‘Good Omens’ for a third and final season in 2023, shortly after the release of Season 2. Michael Sheen recently shared what to expect from the upcoming episodes during an interview with TV Insider.

“It’s still in development, but obviously, I’m very excited to work with David [Tennant] again, and I love that character. I’m very excited about it,” the actor explained. “One of the extraordinary things about being a part of ‘Good Omens’ is the audience, the fans, the fandom of it.”

“You have to take it very seriously because people get really affected by it. And seeing how people reacted to the end of Season 2, was extraordinary. So yeah, I hope, and I’m sure, that Season 3 will be a satisfying experience for everyone,” he continued.

Aziraphale accepted the Metatron’s offer to give him the supreme archangel position in Heaven and restore Crowley to full angelic status at the end of Season 2. But the two parted ways with a sad kiss because Crowley rejected Heaven and wanted to run off with Aziraphale instead.

Neil Gaiman previously said that Season 2 was intended as a bridge between his and Sir Terry Pratchett’s novel and the show’s third season.

“In Season 3, we will deal once more with the end of the world,” the writer said in a statement following the renewal. “The plans for Armageddon are going wrong. Only Crowley and Aziraphale working together can hope to put it right. And they aren’t talking.”

‘Good Omens’ Season 3 will start filming next year.
