Harrison Ford recently appeared on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ to promote the upcoming second season of ‘Shrinking.’ During the interview, host Jimmy Kimmel brought up how Ford’s co-star on the show, Jason Segel, once confessed to being intimidated by the veteran actor on set.
Then, he asked whether the ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ actor ever felt the same way about anyone during his career. He revealed, “Well, Alec Guinness. Sean Connery.”
Ford worked with Alec Guinness during the ‘Star Wars’ trilogy and Sean Connery in some of the ‘Indiana Jones’ films. Kimmel asked whether the two had tried to ease his nerves on set, and the actor replied with a simple ‘no’ after a long pause.
He continued, “No, actually, Alec Guinness did. He tried to help me find an apartment when I first came to London to make ‘Star Wars.’ That’s the kind of sir he was.”
Ford himself intimidated more co-stars than just Jason Segel. Last year, ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ star Anthony Mackie shared with Inverse, “The first day was so intimidating. I was so f*cking nervous I couldn’t remember my lines.”
“He’s Harrison f*cking Ford,” he continued. “There is this aura about him. But he dispels that really quickly because he’s such a cool guy. He’s everything a movie star should be. He would say, ‘Let’s shoot this piece of shit.’ And everybody was like, ‘Yeah, let’s shoot this shit.’”
‘Captain America: Brave New World’ will bring Mackie back as Sam Wilson, this time yielding Captain America’s shield. Ford will play the newly elected President Thaddeus Ross, who tasks Wilson with a government mission that leads to an international crisis.
The film, which also stars Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, and Giancarlo Esposito, is set to release on February 14, 2025.
