‘Fallout’ featured several nods to the original games in Season 1, and fans can expect the same in Season 2. According to series star Ella Purnell, the upcoming season will include even more Easter eggs.
“What I will say is there’s so much in ‘Fallout,’ obviously, 25 years of lore and so much to sink your teeth into that you can’t put it all in one season,” the actress said in a new chat with ComicBook. “I would expect to see, hopefully, a few more of our Easter eggs in Season 2.”
Showrunners Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet already mentioned some elements that they’d kept on hold for later seasons to avoid overloading Season 1. One major exclusion was the Deathclaws, which they saved for Season 2 to give them proper focus.
“We wanted to get Deathclaws, but we didn’t want to just throw it away,” Wagner explained to The Wrap. “It’s such a monumental piece. We want to save something for Season 2 to be able to do it properly, not just added on to the massive world building we had to do already in Season 1. So, Season 2, we’re very excited to finally tackle one of the most iconic elements of the games.”
Hints of the creature’s existence came in the season finale, with a Deathclaw skull spotted in the desert. Early explanations from the crew also hinted at New Vegas’ appearance in the upcoming episodes, as Hank MacLean escaped there, with his daughter joining The Ghoul to track him down.
While there’s no official release date yet for ‘Fallout’ Season 2, the showrunners are confident that its return will be quick, thanks to the already-established assets.
