Recently, rumors have circulated about a potential crossover between Tom Hardy’s Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the upcoming ‘Spider-Man 4.’ Hardy addressed these during a new chat with The Top Comics, where he confirmed that, for now, his involvement in the Marvel world is on pause.
“I love playing Venom, but the contract’s up and we always knew we were doing three and this is the best of them all,” the actor said. “We poured everything into it and absolutely love it. It’s an environment based on what people want so who knows what the future holds.”
Referring to the Spider-Man topic, he added, “I’ll fight Spider-Man whenever he wants… I would love that, who wouldn’t? I’d love to fight Batman as Venom. There’s so much to do with these characters.”
Hardy’s brief appearance as Venom in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ where he left behind a part of the symbiote in Earth-616, sparked a lot of speculation. Fans have been discussing a possible crossover between the two universes, and Knull’s appearance in the ‘Venom: The Last Dance’ trailer has only added fuel to these talks.
Plot details for ‘Spider-Man 4’ are unclear at the moment because the studio is still working on a script, but the film is expected to start filming next year with Destin Daniel Cretton directing. Potential release date is Summer 2026.
