‘Stranger Things’ Cast Cried For 20 Minutes Reading The Final Episode

The cast is nearing the end of filming for the show’s fifth and final season, and emotions are running high for the ending.

‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 will likely arrive in 2025 (though the exact date has not been set by Netflix) and feature eight episodes, concluding the series.

The last episode will be ‘the best episode they’ve ever done,’ according to David Harbour. The actor recently revealed on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast that even the finale’s table read was enough to bring the cast to tears.

“The end of this [final] episode when we were reading it—just us reading it—about halfway through, people started crying,” Harbour said. “Then about the last 20 minutes, it was just uncontrollably crying, waves of different people. Noah Schnapp being my favorite.”

“I think part of that also is the fact that these kids, it was their childhood,” he continued. “It’s 10 years later, and we examine that idea, and it’s so well done and so beautiful… It’s such a great episode, and it’s such a great season. You guys will love it.”

Noah Schnapp and his young co-stars were between 11 and 14 years old when they started on ‘Stranger Things.’ Now, as the show is ending, they are in their early 20s.

David Harbour has been a central figure since the show began, portraying Jim Hopper opposite Schnapp, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Sadie Sink.

Winona Ryder was also part of the main cast as Joyce Byers, along with Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, and Maya Hawke as Robin Buckley.
