Brooke Carter Felt ‘Intimidated’ By Millie Bobby Brown During ‘Damsel’ Movie

Carter and Brown play on-screen sisters in the new Netflix movie.

Brooke Carter shared her thoughts in a chat with The Direct, reflecting on her role as Floria, opposite Millie Bobby Brown’s Elodie. She described her experience on set as ‘amazing’ but admitted to feeling a bit overwhelmed at the start by Brown’s reputation:

“It was such an amazing experience. It was quite intimidating at first because she’s such a professional actress, and she’s so big in the acting world. But over time, she gave me lots of tips and tricks on set, and it made me want to push myself more being around such amazing actors.”

The Duo Formed A Bond With Each Other

Playing sisters in the movie, the two actresses had a day at a vineyard in Portugal to develop a bond off-screen as well. Carter also used her relationship with her own siblings to help shape the sisterly bond between Floria and Elodie on screen:

“I don’t have a sister. So, I couldn’t really relate to having a sister. But I think having siblings and how I would react to my siblings or show love towards them. That definitely helped getting used to the whole sibling with Elodie and Floria thing.”

Carter’s Role In The Netflix Movie

‘Damsel’ presents a gripping tale where Elodie’s acceptance of a marriage proposal spirals into a desperate fight for survival against a backdrop of ancient debts and a lurking dragon. Amidst this chaos, Carter’s Floria also finds herself in the unfolding turmoil, getting into a fight alongside her sister.

This film marks Brooke Carter’s first full-length film, following notable appearances in TV shows like ‘The Alienist’ and ‘The Peripheral.’
