Charlie Cox will soon suit up as Daredevil again in the upcoming Marvel’s ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ TV show and will possibly also show up in ‘Avenger: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars.’
According to his words at the recent FanExpo Chicago, Cox wants to team up with Spider-Man in at least one of these future projects.
The actor mentioned how much it meant for fans to see Spider-Man and Daredevil together in ‘No Way Home.’ “I feel that way now as well myself,” he said. “So, the Spider-Man thing is such an iconic thing; the idea of Matt Murdock and Peter Parker together is just so iconic. I hope that, in the future, we get to do some more stuff together because that really is fun. That’s the main thing; just that those opportunities can arise.”
Reports suggest that ‘Spider-Man 4’ originally featured Spider-Man and Daredevil fighting together against The Kingpin, but Marvel and Sony shelved the idea until after ‘Secret Wars.’ The decision probably resulted from the delay of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ to next March with Season 2 unlikely to come out before 2027.
‘Spider-Man 4’ is still in development, but a release date remains unclear due to creative conflicts between Marvel and Sony. Writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers are working on the script, though.
Meanwhile, ‘Born Again’ works to finish the post-production stage. Charlie Cox returns alongside Vincent D’Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, Deborah Ann Woll, and Elden Henson.
Cox is also set to voice Daredevil in the upcoming animated series ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,’ which will debut on Disney+ in late 2024. Hudson Thames will voice Spider-Man in the show instead of Tom Holland.
