Corey Stoll’s eight-year-old son, Nico, started seeing the Marvel catalog but stopped watching 2015’s ‘Ant-Man’ when he saw his father was Yellowjacket. Stoll explained his son’s reaction to People:
“He was like, ‘This is weird.’ [I think] seeing me as a bad guy is a little weird for him.”
Yellowjacket seemed to have died at the end of the first film. But he made a comeback as M.O.D.A.K. in 2023’s ‘Quantumania.’
The actor said he was open to reprise the role once again opposite Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly, but Marvel has no official plans for new ‘Ant-Man’ projects at the moment. The studio isn’t likely to revisit the franchise in the near future as the third film failed at the box office with $463 million.
The Actor Works On Theater Now
Corey Stoll is currently on Broadway in Branden Jacobs Jenkins’ ‘Appropriate.’ The play is about three siblings dealing with their past after they return to their late father’s home in Arkansas. Sarah Paulson and Michael Esper also star in the production.
Stoll and Paulson are nominated for Tony Awards for their performances in ‘Appropriate.’ The stage project is up for a total of eight nominations, including for best play, but the Marvel actor wasn’t sure about his nomination until last moments:
“We had some technical difficulties, and they didn’t announce my category in the first batch, so I couldn’t watch the first part. I thought, ‘Oh, I’ll get a call if I get a nomination,’ but then time passed, and I didn’t get a call. So, I actually was in the middle of my workout, trying to just sort of work off that stress. Then they’re like, ‘Oh, now we’re going to announce the best supporting actor.’”
The 2024 Tony Awards will take place on June 16 at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater in New York City.
