Rahul Kohli recently revealed on the ‘Salaam Nerds’ podcast that he tried out to play Mr. Fantastic in Marvel’s ‘The Fantastic Four’ before the role went to Pedro Pascal. He didn’t go into the audition’s details but commented on his appearance in fan casts.
The actor likened the experience to being a popular pick for DCU’s John Constantine:
“Yeah, I don’t know if I’m allowed to talk about it but… I didn’t get it is the important thing. But, on good days I see the Constantine. It will flare up once and again. And I love all of them. On good days, you’re like, ‘Man, I’m wanted!’ People really want to see. You’re the guy that people will shout out for anything.”
He continued:
“On bad days, ‘It’s a reminder that you’re not the guy. You’re not there. These are the roles you’ll never get.’ So, it’s sweet and it’s perspective. It’s how you feel about yourself.”
What To Know About The Rebooted ‘Fantastic Four’
Production for ‘The Fantastic Four’ is to begin this summer with a release date set for July 2025. The film’s cast will feature Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as The Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, and Joseph Quinn as The Human Torch.
Julia Garner will join the project as Shalla-Bal, aka the Silver Surfer. Her role will be as another herald of Galactus instead of a gender-bent version.
Matt Shakman is confirmed to direct a script written by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer.
The New Marvel Project’s Main Villain
The upcoming Marvel movie will also include Paul Walter-Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne in currently unknown roles. Meanwhile, Ralph Ineson will play the cosmic entity Galactus.
Ineson reacted to his casting on social media earlier this month:
“World devouring cosmic villain, is it? I’ll see what I can do.”
The actor returns to work with Disney following a lawsuit against the company for injuries he got on the ‘Willow’ set. He reportedly sought $200,000 for the permanent damage on his shoulder.
