Jensen Ackles played Soldier Boy in‘The Boys’ Season 3, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan joined the cast as Joe Kessler in Season 4. Jared Padalecki also shared interest in being on the show during a recent interview with Deadline.
When asked if he wanted to appear in the Prime Video series, the actor revealed:
“The answer is yes. We have talked [about a role]. As a matter of fact, we talked today. I think at this point in my acting life, I only want to work on projects that I really care about or with people that I really care about, and obviously Eric [Kripke] and I are indelibly connected forever.”
The Showrunner Thinks It’s Time To Bring Him In
Padalecki previously said he would accept a role in ‘The Boys’ if Eric Kripke gave him time to work out and get ready for it. Kripke noted the cancellation of The CW’s ‘Walker’ as a chance to bring the ‘Supernatural’ star into the cast.
The showrunner told Entertainment Weekly:
“I feel like it would be a bummer to not have Jared on the show one way or another at this point, even if it’s just the one-episode thing. He’s been shooting ‘Walker,’ but with that show wrapping up, maybe he’ll have some time to come in and play with us. I would love it. We have definitely talked about it.”
There Isn’t Much Time Left For The Show
‘The Boys’ Season 4 is currently streaming on Prime Video. Kripke has one season left to add Padalecki to the lineup and thinks it’s the right amount of time to wrap up the story. He shared earlier this month:
“Part of it is such a wonky stupid screenwriter thing but three and five are the big magical numbers for writing. Three is movie acts, TV acts are five. Jokes are a runner of three for five. Five just seems like a good round number. It’s enough to tell the story but also bring it to a climax without wearing out its welcome. It’s been hard because I haven’t been able to tell everyone. I was thrilled to finally be able to get the word out there.”
‘The Boys’ Season 4 finale will air on Prime Video on July 18.
