Josh Brolin Is Disappointed That Marvel Didn’t Call Him For ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’

The actor discussed why he was not asked back to play Cable in the new Marvel movie.

Josh Brolin recently had an interview about ‘Outer Range’ Season 2 on the ‘Bingeworthy TV’ podcast. The host pointed out his name in IMDb’s ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ cast list and suggested he must be in the film. Brolin said:

“Am I? Yes! I so wanted to be in that movie. [Laughs]”

The actor was not sure about Marvel Studios’ secret plans for Cable:

“[Marvel] is a more complex labyrinth than ‘Outer Range’ will ever be, my friend, and I will never know where that went or what that is or what I’m involved with or what I’m not involved with —the MCU being involved now. Cable was a lot of fun. I really liked doing that role. That was a lot of fun.”

He’s Looking Forward To The Movie

Brolin previously joked about his absence from the ‘Deadpool And Wolverine’ cast by telling Collider:

“No. I don’t know. Because Ryan [Reynolds] doesn’t like me? I don’t know… I don’t know.”

He noted in the recent chat his interest in the reunion between Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool, though:

“Hugh, I’m absolutely in love with. I know Ryan now, and I’ve met Hugh a couple of times, and I think when he did ‘Logan’—forget it! I mean, Scott Frank, who wrote it, is a good friend of mine and I just think the coming together of [these characters] is just fantastic. And Hugh, I don’t know how old Hugh is now—is he 56, 57? I mean, seriously, the dude doesn’t age. So, yeah. I’m a big fan of his.”

The movie also brought X-Force’s Peter (Rob Delaney) and Shatterstar (Lewis Tan) and Aaron Stanford’s Pyro from Fox’s ‘X-Men’ franchise back.
