Krysten Ritter May Have Accidentally Confirmed Jessica Jones’ Return To MCU With New Purple Hair

The actress’s recent change to purple hair might be hinting at a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel recently started bringing original Defenders Saga actors back in ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ Rumors said Jessica Jones would also make a comeback in the MCU, and Krysten Ritter teased a confirmation with her new purple hair on Instagram.

Netflix debuted live-action Jessica Jones in 2015 and portrayed her with black hair although her comic book version had purple hair. Ritter’s style change might imply plans for a more comic-accurate portrayal in future projects. But Marvel is yet to confirm the rumors.

The Actress Wants To Return

The actress nodded back to Jessica Jones earlier this year as well. She posted an Instagram video wearing a t-shirt from the show with the caption ‘IYKYK’ and a winking face emoji.

Ritter also shared willingness to reprise her Marvel role in a 2021 chat with Screen Rant:

“I would absolutely just die to play Jessica again. I had the best time doing it and I just love her so much. I’m so proud of that character. Not only because it was like a great role and she’s such a bad-ass, but that character has really resonated with people in a way that I don’t know who else has. Really, really resonated with women and girls, trauma survivors. It’s just so, so big and such a thing I’m so grateful to have been a part of. So, if there’s ever an opportunity for me to put on those boots, I will be there in a flash.”

Defenders Saga Team Is Back

Meanwhile, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, and Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye returned to Hell’s Kitchen. Ayelet Zurer, Deborah Ann Woll, and Elden Henson later joined them in the lineup.

‘Daredevil: Born Again’ finished filming with a wrap party on April 5. Zurer and D’Onofrio later reunited to film more scenes in New York.

The show is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2025. The new 18 episodes will likely come out in two parts.
