The ‘Agatha All Along’ trailer introduced a direct sequel to ‘WandaVision’ as expected. Agatha started off the video as a detective on a case, still under Wanda’s magic, before Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal snapped her out of the trance.
The witch will go on a mission to form a ‘Coven of Chaos’ to regain her powers from thereon, according to the trailer and official synopsis:
“In ‘Agatha All Along,’ the infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth teen helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious teen pull together a desperate coven, and set off down, down, down the Road…”
‘WandaVision’ showrunner Jac Schaeffer will direct the first episode.
The New Series Will Be Dark And ‘Scary’
The upcoming Disney+ show will reportedly set the stage for Wanda Maximoff/The Scarlet Witch’s return after her ambiguous end in ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.’ It will also include some dark scenes and twists, according to Marvel Studios’ Brad Winderbaum.
Winderbaum told the ‘Official Marvel Podcast’ a few days ago:
“‘Agatha’ is really fun, but it’s really scary. And it gets quite dramatic. She’s an amazing anti-hero. It lures you in with the fun of Halloween, and before you know it, you’re crying.”
‘Agatha All Along’ will premiere on September 18. Rachel Goldberg and Gandja Montiero will share directorial duties with Jac Schaeffer.
The cast will include Kathryn Hahn as Agatha as well as Joe Locke, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, Debra Jo Rupp, Patti LuPone, and Aubrey Plaza.
