Marvel Removes Serpent Society From ‘Captain America: Brave New World’

Fans were excited to see the Serpent Society in ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ but Marvel has plans to cut them from the film.

According to industry insiders, Marvel Studios is reportedly making changes to its upcoming superhero film, ‘Captain America: Brave New World,’ leaving fans in a state of anticipation and uncertainty.

As per Fandomwire, the insiders shared that the Serpent Society, initially set to play a major role in the storyline, is being cut from the film. These changes were first brought to light by Daniel Richtman (Daniel RPK), a well-known industry insider, and later confirmed by other sources. However, Marvel Studios has yet to release an official statement regarding the rumors.

This decision led to mixed reactions from fans as the film undergoes major reshoots slated for later this year.

The removal of the Serpent Society and potentially WWE star Seth Rollins, who was rumored to play King Cobra as a key member of the society, marks a shift in the film’s direction. The reshoots, expected to run from May to August 2024, aim to introduce new characters and plot elements while replacing the Serpent Society’s storyline.

Directed by Julius Onah and written by the team of Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, and Matthew Orton, the film continues the story from the television miniseries ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ (2021). It also has a star-studded cast, including Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, Shira Haas, Harrison Ford, and Liv Tyler.

Originally titled ‘Captain America: New World Order,’ the film’s name was changed during its filming period, which took place from March to June 2023. The movie is now scheduled for release in the United States on February 14, 2025, due to a delay related to the industry-wide strikes by the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and SAG-AFTRA.
