Selena Gomez Is Officially Back With ‘Wizards Of Waverly Place’

Fans will see her reprise her role as Alex Russo, with David Henrie also coming back as Justin Russo.

Selena Gomez, who rose to fame playing Alex Russo in ‘Wizards of Waverly Place,’ is set to make a return to the show. As reported by Deadline, Disney Channel is reigniting the magic with a reboot of the series.

Wizards of Waverly Place‘ aired from 2007 to 2012 and revolved around the Russo siblings. After its conclusion, a stand-alone television special aired in 2013. The possibility of a reunion series has been a topic of discussion since 2017, and this news means fans’ dreams have finally come true.

After seeing Deadline’s article, Gomez took to her Instagram to share her excitement with her fans, writing ‘so excited’ with a heart emoji on her own story. She also shared a picture of herself and Henrie as Alex and Justin in the next story, and it was followed by one that appears to be the script.

What We Know About the Reboot?

David Henrie will also return, reprising his role as Justin Russo, now a family man entangled once again in wizardry. He shared the news with his fans as well by posting an image of the pilot script in an Instagram post, writing:

“The Russo’s are excited to become a part of your family once again, but we’ve grown. 2024 [is] the year magic comes back!”

Alongside her return to the wizarding world, although in a guest-starring role, Gomez has a busy acting schedule in 2024. Her upcoming ventures include the fourth season of ‘Only Murders in the Building’ and a role in a Linda Ronstadt biopic. Besides, Gomez is involved in projects like ‘In the Shadow of the Mountain,’ ‘Spiral,’ and ‘Emilia Perez.’
