Tom Cruise marked the 10th anniversary of ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ on Instagram. The actor posted the movie’s trailer and sent special thanks to his co-star Emily Blunt in the caption. He wrote:
“It’s been 10 years since ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ first hit theaters! I want to take the opportunity to thank Emily Blunt once again for being such a great friend and brilliant actress. I love her performance in this film. Her dedication. Her humor. Her vulnerability and power. She brought it all.”
Thanks And Praises For The Team
Cruise gave a shoutout to other cast and crew members as well:
“This anniversary brings back incredible memories. My first collaboration with Doug Liman. Rejoining the indomitable Brendan Gleeson. And my first time working alongside the great Bill Paxton. His performance and the character he created left an indelible mark on this film.”
He continued:
“Hitting this kind of tone was no easy task. The writing and storytelling of Christopher McQuarrie made the movie work. Along with the dedication of our entire team who helped bring it to the screen—it was an absolute joy creating it with you all.”
Plans For New Film With The ‘Edge Of Tomorrow’ Studio
‘Edge of Tomorrow’ came through Warner Bros. in 2014. The actor signed a new partnership deal with the studio earlier this year and has new projects on the horizon. He shared:
“To everyone who has enjoyed this film over the years, thank you for being a fan. And thank you to Warner Bros. for making this film. I can’t wait to share more about the great movies we’re working on.”
Cruise’s upcoming work might include a sequel to his and Emily Blunt’s ten-year-old sci-fi action film, though nothing is confirmed.
Blunt Wants To Return, But Cruise Is Busy
Blunt is willing to reprise her role as Sergeant Rita Vrataski for a possible sequel. She previously told the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast:
“It could be good. I think when we first talked about a sequel, it was right before I was about to do ‘Mary Poppins,’ so it was quite a while ago. I think if we were going to do one, we would have to reimagine what the sequel would look like.”
The actress also mentioned getting a script for ‘Edge of Tomorrow 2’ in past interviews. But she added that she didn’t know when or how it would happen as Cruise was busy with other projects.
The ‘Top Gun’ actor is currently working on ‘Mission: Impossible 8.’
