James Gunn Addresses The Latest ‘Superman: Legacy’ Cast Rumors

The online cast lists of ‘Superman: Legacy’ are wrong about Batman’s actor, James Gunn reveals.

James Gunn announced that the DCU’s Batman wouldn’t make his debut until the release of ‘The Brave And The Bold,’ but rumors about possibly seeing the character in 2025’s ‘Superman: Legacy’ spread among fans. Gunn recently addressed these rumors directly during an online chat on Threads.

A fan brought attention to a cast list on Letterboxd, which unexpectedly included Ryan Gosling as Bruce Wayne. They wrote:

“Hey, James, I’m just browsing thru Letterboxd, and uhhh, interesting addition to the cast here.”

The creative chief’s only reaction was sending an eye-roll emoji to reveal that the casting was not true.

The Ongoing Speculations About The Film’s Casting

There’s been a lot of guessing about who will play the new Batman. Along with John Krasinski, Jensen Ackles was a name many fans thought about, especially since he’s shown interest in the role. But Gunn has shared that ‘The Brave And The Bold’ had neither a set cast nor a script yet.

The producer also debunked rumors about Robert Pattinson or George Clooney returning to play the character in the DCU. The Studio made it clear that Clooney’s cameo in ‘The Flash’ was just a one-time thing and that Pattinson’s Batman in Matt Reeves’ movie was a separate story.

As for who will be Batman in ‘The Brave And The Bold,’ it’s still a mystery. Alan Ritchson, known for ‘Reacher,’ has been talked about recently as a possibility, but nothing is certain yet.
