‘The Boys’ Erin Moriarty Says She’s Horrified By The Bullying She Faced Over ‘Extreme Plastic Surgery’

She says these rumors, started by Megyn Kelly, are false and hurtful.

With her recent Instagram post, Erin Moriarty of ‘The Boys’ expressed her dismay at the bullying she saw following accusations of undergoing ‘extreme plastic surgery.’

Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly spearheaded these allegations during the January 17 episode of her The Megyn Kelly Show podcast. In a detailed Instagram post dated January 26, Moriarty addressed the issue, describing Kelly’s comments as ‘bullying’ and ‘disgustingly false:’

“This is something I truly never anticipated writing. We’re all subject to levels of bullying throughout our lives, but I am horrified, and I felt that I deserved to take a second to address these things… To receive a message about a disgustingly false, counterproductive to the degree of being ironically misogynistic video of Megyn Kelly commenting on the manner — to learn the widespread nature of this has left me horrified.”

The actress, set to turn 30, clarified that the ‘before’ photo used by Kelly was nearly a decade old. Moriarty added that the ‘after’ photo, which Kelly cited as evidence of plastic surgery, was actually taken on a day when she had extensive makeup, including major contouring.

In her statement, Moriarty labeled the situation as harassment and false news, stating that it had left her heartbroken. She also announced her intention to keep her Instagram account active solely for the public to read her statement. Besides, Moriarty pointed out an error in Kelly’s statement in the post’s caption, noting that Kelly is no longer affiliated with Fox News:

“I’d like to correct one piece of information in an effort to be the one who is not reporting false information to say that Megyn Kelly is no longer with Fox News.”

What Did Megyn Kelly Say About Moriarty?

During the episode of her podcast, Kelly spoke with The Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles about plastic surgeries, calling them a ‘social illness:’

“More and more young women are doing this. It’s not about an objection to plastic surgery; it’s about an obsession with turning yourself into this fake version of yourself… I find it like a sign of mental illness. I really want to get in the heads of these young girls and say, ‘Please don’t do this.'”

She then pointed out the changes in Moriarty’s appearance by comparing her photos. Showing a before photo, in which she said Erin appeared as ‘a nice, beautiful, natural gal,’ Kelly commented:

“I thought it was just an AI-generated face… but apparently, it’s real. She’s done this to herself.”

Moriarty, responding to the intense scrutiny, limited comments on her Instagram account.

‘The Boys’ has been renewed for a fourth season, anticipated in 2024. Additionally, a new spinoff, ‘The Boys: Mexico,’ was announced on November 28, 2023, expanding the franchise. As for Moriarty, she has an upcoming role in ‘The Haunting in Wicker Park.
