What Was Annie Wersching’s Cause of Death?
Known for her roles in popular TV series such as ‘Star Trek: Picard’ and ’24,’ Wersching passed away at the age of 45 on January 29, 2023, following a battle with cancer. Her cancer diagnosis dates back to mid-2020. She decided to keep her diagnosis private while continuing her acting career.
Her passing, which occurred in Los Angeles, California, was confirmed by her family and reported by Deadline. At the time of the actress’ death, Stephen Full, her husband, remembered Wersching for her inspiring outlook on life:
“There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And find it we shall.”
Wersching, a St. Louis native, began her career with appearances in series such as ‘Star Trek: Enterprise,’ ‘Charmed,’ and ‘Supernatural,’ eventually earning roles in ’24’ as Renee Walker and ‘Bosch’ as Julia Brasher. Her role as the Borg Queen in the second season of ‘Star Trek: Picard’ brought her back to the franchise where she started.
‘Star Trek: Picard,’ which ran from 2020 to 2023, focuses on the character of Jean-Luc Picard. Discussions about the future of the Star Trek franchise continue, with potential spin-offs and sequels, including ‘Star Trek: Legacy.‘
