‘The Boys’ Erin Moriarty Breaks Social Media Silence After Being Bullied By Megyn Kelly

She denied having surgery, saying the photo Kelly used was old and misunderstood.

Erin Moriarty recently made a comeback to Instagram to express her gratitude towards her fans for their support in the wake of critical comments made by former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly.

On February 3, Moriarty returned to social media, posting on her Instagram Stories to thank her supporters. In her message, she touched upon the importance of empathy, safe communication, and shared experiences, saying:

“Dropping in to say 1) I love you all 2) v grateful to be holding my little dude again and 3) to [those] that came forward to talk to me, were vulnerable enough to share: you are f*cking amazing, Stories that should be heard FAR more than mine. I do believe we have a long way to go. In the meantime: talk to me. I wanna hear. Safe zones, empathy and/or sympathy, and catharsis: a medicinal combo. Trust me.”

What Happened Between Moriarty and Kelly?

The controversy began when Kelly, on her podcast aired on January 17, accused Moriarty of undergoing plastic surgery, framing it as indicative of a broader issue of ‘mental illness’ and an ‘obsession with turning yourself into this fake version of yourself.’

In response, Moriarty took to Instagram on January 26. She clarified that the photo used by Kelly was older than claimed and taken at a time when Moriarty had not yet reached the legal drinking age. The actress, who is approaching her 30th birthday, explained that the photo was the result of professional makeup and contouring, not surgery.

‘The Boys’ franchise is expanding with the announcement of a new spinoff, ‘The Boys: Mexico.‘ Moriarty, amidst the controversy, remains in the series and is set to appear in the upcoming film ‘The Haunting in Wicker Park.
