In a recent interview with People, Daisy Ridley revealed that she has kept a few cherished souvenirs from her time in the ‘Star Wars.’ Among these are a lightsaber and a ring, both of which Ridley assures are kept in a ‘very safe location.’
Besides the ring and the lightsaber, Ridley admitted she also had a personal memento from the composer John Williams:
“From ‘Star Wars,’ I have a lightsaber and the ring that I wore as Dark Rey. And John Williams gave me a signed piece of the score, which was phenomenal. They’re all in a very safe location.”
J.J. Abrams Told Ridley ‘Star Wars’ is a Religion
Ridley’s career with Star Wars began in 2015 with ‘The Force Awakens,’ continuing through ‘The Last Jedi’ in 2017, and concluding with ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ in 2019. At the time of her casting in February 2014, Ridley was relatively unknown, so her performance as Rey was a breakthrough in her career.
Reflecting on the time she entered the Star Wars universe, Ridley recounted advice from director J.J. Abrams. According to a 2017 article by Inside Hook, here is what Abrams told to her:
“Understand the scale. This is not a role in a movie. This is a religion for people. It changes things on a level that is inconceivable.”
Despite her initial struggles with self-doubt following her debut in ‘The Force Awakens,’ Ridley is set to return to her role as Rey in an upcoming Star Wars film, slated for release in 2026. Announced during the Star Wars Celebration in 2023, the project aims to explore the reformation of the Jedi Order.
